ARE YOU A “Concerned MWR PATRON” ?

YOU are a “Concerned MWR PATRON” if you:

Are concerned that MWR facilities are closed or services reduced without explanation, or being replaced in-kind.
Are an Army, Navy, Marine, Air Force, Coast Guard, or DOD Civilian user of MWR activities.
Are a user of AAFES or other Non-Appropriated Fund revenue-generating facilities.
Are concerned about the impact of the erosion of quality of life activities on the retention of our force structure

Your Study Group has prepared COMMENTS to the draft Environmental Assessment (EA) and the Finding of No Significant Impact (FNSI) which are available for your information.

WE don't need YOU to send any letters or emails to Commanders or politicians until we see what the Army does with our comments that the draft EA and FNSI are not justified. At that time the letters and emails will be revised.

ACTIONS a “Concerned MWR PATRON” should take:

Read the "Executive Summary" and/or "Impact Study" prepared by your Study Group. Send to other MWR Patrons. (Note: Executive Summary is also posted because the Impact Study is 112 pages (6,000KB) therefore will take time to download using a dial up connection.)
Read the "Wanted" poster, make copies, and place in conspicuous places, and/or send to infuential persons.
Read the " Progress" page for latest information.
Send of "Wanted Poster" to following 3 Commands:
- Commanding General, Installation Management Command
- Commanding General, Family & Morale, Welfare Recreation Command
- Garrison Commander, Fort Belvoir
Send " Letters or Email" to political leaders and persons who can help replace our quality of life recreational facilities. The more letters/emails the more pressure for them to take action.
Send an "Email" to your friends who are MWR Patrons informing them of www.concernedmwrpatrons.org and asking for their support. (This could happen to their facilities.)
Keep www.concernedmwrpatrons.org informed of any responses, problems, or ideas. Your study group is ready to brief regarding the rationale and "recommendations" in the Impact Study.
